It is generally not possible to entirely "avoid" paying Value Added Tax (VAT) when it is legally due, as it is a consumption tax on most goods and services. However, there are legitimate ways to avoid being charged VAT or to reclaim it, depending on your status as a consumer or a business, the nature of the transaction, and the location.
